When you send a text message to the twittsms mobile number, our SMS gateway (Open.Movilforum converts the text message into an email, wich is read periodically by twittsms. When an email is received from the gateway it is updated the twitter account of the user. This is done using the Twitter API, that allows third parties to create applications and services like this.
Currently, Twitter.com and Terra ar working together to create a Spanish twitter, but they are slower than a turtle. You can check it in Terra
